PizarraTV shows a business’s menu, promotions and queue on its screens. To do that we need some data. This page explains what we collect, why, who we work with and how you can exercise your rights. The Spanish version (Política de privacidad) is the governing version.
1. Who we are
PizarraTV is a service of Virtus SpA, based in Providencia, Santiago, Chile (“PizarraTV”, “we”). For any privacy question, write to contacto@virtusgroup.cl.
2. Who this applies to
- Businesses that create a PizarraTV account, and the people who manage it.
- People who take a number on a business’s “Take a number” page.
- Screens (TVs, monitors and other devices) running the PizarraTV app or player.
- Visitors to pizarratv.com and app.pizarratv.com.
3. Data we process
Business account
Name, email address, business name, language and password. Passwords are stored transformed with a protection algorithm (scrypt): we never store or see them in plain text. We also record whether you confirmed your email and your open sessions (through a session cookie).
Business content
Menu, prices, promotions, photos, logo, schedules and the settings of the screens and the queue. This content is meant to be shown publicly on the business’s screens.
Plan and payments
The chosen plan, its status, the subscription identifier and the payer’s email. Card details are entered into and stored by Mercado Pago: PizarraTV never sees or stores them.
Screens
An identifier generated by the app, the name the business gives the screen, the device and browser type, and the date of its last connection. The TV app does not use the camera or microphone, does not collect data about people watching the screen and does not use advertising identifiers.
People who take a number
- Name, so we can call you, and the page language. The business chooses how names appear on its screens (by default, first name and last initial, such as “Marco V.”, or the number only).
- Phone number, only if the business asks for it and you choose to provide it.
- Business customer list: only if you leave your phone number and tick the authorization box, the business keeps your name, phone number, the date of your authorization and how many times you have visited.
- Call voice: to announce your turn out loud, the text of the call (number, name as displayed and service point) is sent to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, which generates the audio. That audio is temporarily stored on our server so it does not have to be generated again.
Technical data
IP address and browser details in server logs, to run the service and protect it (for example, to limit sign-in attempts).
Website
We do not use advertising cookies or analytics or tracking tools. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in to the dashboard, and browser storage to remember preferences such as language. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which shares your IP address with Google.
4. How we use it
- To provide the service: show content on screens, issue numbers and call turns.
- To manage your account, keep it secure and give you support.
- To charge for the plan you subscribe to.
- To send necessary emails: email confirmation, password recovery and plan notices.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
5. Data about each business’s customers
Data about people who take a number, and the customer list, belong to the business that collects them, which is responsible for them. PizarraTV processes them on the business’s behalf and only to provide the service. Each business can only see its own data.
If you took a number at a business and want to see or delete your data, ask the business: it can delete you instantly from its dashboard. You can also write to us and we will help.
6. Service providers
We work with the following providers, which process data on our behalf and only as needed:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Fly.io | Servers that run PizarraTV and its database | São Paulo, Brazil |
| Cloudflare | Domains, storage of photos and logos, and encrypted backups | United States and global network |
| Google Cloud | Queue call voice and website fonts | United States and global network |
| Mercado Pago | Plan payments | Chile and countries where it operates |
| Resend | Service emails | Brazil and United States |
As a result, some data is processed outside Chile. We choose providers with security and confidentiality commitments.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and business content: while the account is active. If you ask us to delete it, we erase its data, and it disappears from backups within 30 days at most.
- Daily numbers: deleted every midnight. Only figures without names remain (how many people were served and waiting times).
- Customer list: until the business deletes it or the person asks for deletion.
- Photos no longer in use: deleted automatically after 24 hours.
- Call audio: a temporary cache that is renewed automatically.
- Technical logs: as long as needed to run and protect the service.
- Payment information: as long as tax law requires.
8. Security
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) on the website, dashboard and screens.
- Passwords protected with scrypt, and sessions stored without their original key.
- Restricted-access database and encrypted daily backups (AES-256).
- Each business can only access its own information.
No system is infallible. If we detect an incident affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.
9. Your rights
Under Chilean Law No. 19,628 on the Protection of Private Life and its amendments, you can request access to your data, its correction and deletion, and object to its processing, among other rights. Write to contacto@virtusgroup.cl stating what you need; we will reply within the legal deadlines.
You can correct your account details from the dashboard at any time.
10. Minors
PizarraTV is a service for businesses and is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly request their data to create accounts.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will publish each version here with its date and, for significant changes, notify businesses by email.
